Responsibilities
The Medical Laboratory Scientist Supervisor (MLS Supervisor) functions as a professional who assumes responsibility and accountability for leading a laboratory department. With direct oversight of staff who perform clinical laboratory testing specific to that laboratory department.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science or Physical Science
OR Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technician with >2 years of experience in a high complexity clinical laboratory.
Current knowledge of clinical laboratory techniques and principles
ASCP or equivalent required.
Certification must be maintained without lapse during employment.
If certification does lapse, job will be downgraded to Medical Laboratory Scientist (non-certified) or Medical Laboratory Technician (non-certified) until certification is reinstated.
Clinical laboratory experience as a Medical Technologist, Clinical Laboratory Scientist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Laboratory Technician within a clinical laboratory. Current knowledge of clinical laboratory techniques and principles is required.
One (1) year experience with high complexity testing if indicated (required for Blood Bank)
Preferred Job Requirements:
Five (5) years' experience in a clinical laboratory
Previous experience in a leadership role, billing compliance, performance improvement and regulatory standardEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
