General Medical 5A/B unit is a 45-bed unit consisting of general medical patients with a mix of Cardio IMCU and Med-Surg overflowThe unit is supported by a team consisting of the Unit Secretary, Patient Care Technicians, Transporters, Nutrition Ambassadors, RN's, LVN's, RN Shift Supervisor, a Clinical Educator, a Manager and the Director working as a cohesive team to ensure excellent patient careResponsibilitiesThe Sitter/Observer is responsible for non-clinical care of adult patients as assigned to them by the Charge NurseSitter/Observer responsibilities will include continuous observation of the patient, the Sitter/Observer is required to remain alert and in the room with the patient at all times, the Sitter/Observer will notify nursing staff if the patient requests or requires assistance outside of the sitter/observer's responsibilities, the Sitter/Observer will notify the nursing staff to be relieved for breaksThe Sitter/Observer does not provide direct patient careQualificationsLicenses and Certifications:
BLS or Basic Heart Saver from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required Qualifications/
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Minimum of 18-years of ageAble to recognize important patient request and/or observations and communicate it to the appropriate team member Requires individuals that are able to be alert the entire shiftRequired fluency in the English language to function in the job environment appropriatelyGood organizational and follow-though skillsRequires a mature, professional and positive individual with compassionate customer service skills; must be committed to patient and family satisfaction Recommended Skills Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (Acls) Basic Life Support Clinical Works Education Hardworking And Dedicated Health Care Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
