Responsibilities:
Responsible for all aspects of the prior authorization process with insurance companies.
Responsibilities include collecting all necessary documentation, contacting the patient for additional information, and completing the required prior authorization process to proceed with testing.
Notify patients of appointments and providing any instructions needed.
Responsible for entering/documenting insurance prior authorization information into the EHR.
Perform additional responsibilities by contacting insurance carriers to verify patient's insurance eligibility, benefits, and requirements.
Request, obtain, and follow up on prior authorization on services being performed from insurance carriers within the time allotted for medical services/procedures.
Communicate with other facilities and scheduling appointments for outpatient testing.
Qualifications:
Job Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent 6 months minimum experience in good customer service and people interaction Scheduling/Prior Authorization related experience.
Strong attention to detail and extensive knowledge of medical terminology One (1) year previous scheduler experience.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
