Summary:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for providing various support functions for operational activities.
This role will assist in the daily operations of the facility directed by the Operations Manager.
This person must work and communicate effectively with management to help assure the facility is in a constant state of preparedness to meet schedules and take advantage of opportunities that arise.
This includes assisting with many things; inventory control, operational cost control and logistics, mix & blend including grain conditioning and space allocation, preventative maintenance, production planning, and asset security.
Essential Job Functions:
Follow all safety procedures and protocols and ensure staff adheres to each accordingly Prepare daily work schedules and assignments for hourly staff Follow up on all daily assignments to ensure work is being done efficiently and safely Assist Management in developing and executing facility improvements Learning and understanding all operational job tasks within the elevator and mills Assist Operations with maintenance activities striving to learn all pieces of equipment and how to properly maintain each Assist in scheduling preventative maintenance functions while maintaining a safe and reliable facility in compliance with OSHA grain handling standards Provide support and leadership to the hourly operations staff, ensure their understanding and knowledge of the facility Aid in maintaining the security of the asset to minimize or eliminate exposure to theft, property damage, vandalism, and trespassing Lead/coach onsite workers including contractors, temps, and service providers Help ensure compliance with all required safety, regulatory, environmental, and company programs, including Federal, State, and Local regulations regarding Occupation Health and Safety, Environmental Protection, and Operational Permit requirements Other Job Functions:
Provide insight to Operations management on hourly employee performance Recommend process improvements as necessary Assist with record keeping and documentation on all incidents according to health and safety standards Assist management with crew development and training as needed Qualifications/Education/Experience/Skills:
Ability to work and interact well with others Secondary education in Agriculture, Operations, Manufacturing, or related field preferred Strong organizational, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills Positive and self-motivated attitude Farming background a plus Possible relocation to other facilities for job growth/advancement Ability to work and interact well with others Prior grain handling or feed experience a plus Special Demands:
Operational, mechanical, and technical hands-on responsibilities Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands, kneel, and bend Frequently required to lift or move more than 50 pounds Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud Outdoor work environment, including heights and inclement weather, approximately 80% of the time Job Type:
