EHS/HSE Safety Technician

Our client is seeking a Safety Technician with 1-2 years' construction safety experience in the Commercial or Chemical Manufacturing industry. This position will assist with the daily implementation of the Health and Safety programs that ensure compliance with statutory requirements and promote safe and healthy working conditions. Perform assignments of limited scope and difficulty following the direction of the assigned Manager or Specialist. Supports established policies and procedures. Provides site inspections, supports established safety programs, and supports training.

Duties & Essential Job Functions:
Assist with permitting: Hot work, Permit Required Confined Space Entry, Excavation etc.
Assist with accident/incident investigation.
Assist with safety meetings / tailgate meetings.
Perform field audits of all personal protective equipment in use in field.
Perform atmospheric monitoring of all work areas and record results appropriately.
Audit safety performance of all employees including all reporting forms and audit sheets.
Ensure all incidents/accidents are reported immediately to management and according to company policy.
Assist with performing root cause analysis and insure a corrective action is implemented.
Work with supervision to implement Job Safety Analysis.
Participate in any investigation or analysis of site safety.
Take personal ownership and responsibility for protecting people from harm, and for assisting in developing strategies that drive performance and support continuous improvement.

Other Functions and
Responsibilities:
Must have good verbal communication, and organizational skills.
Able to handle tasks simultaneously and ensure prompt completion of tasks and assignments.
Must be a self-starter and able to work independently after direction is given.
Familiar with Microsoft Office products.

Qualifications:
Required:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree.
Minimum 1- 2 years craft or safety experience working on commercial or industrial projects.
ARSC Basic Safety or equivalent.

Preferred:
Valid state driver's license.
First-Aid/CPR, OSHA 10, TWIC.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
