Industrial Engineer - Amarillo Assembly Center
Position
Summary:
This entry level position develops and coordinates with Manufacturing the strategies and plans that improve productivity. Under Management supervision, implements practices to reduce operating expenses, reduce work in progress, and increase production.
Responsibilities:
Under direct management oversight, learn to;
1. Learn to summarize, by significant categories, issues that affected manufacturing activity to Production supervisor.
2. Learn to develop crewload/shopload plans and reports.
3. Learn to estimate time values or standards in appropriate electronic systems.
4. Learn to provide schedule variance figures to manufacturing and assist in Performance report (weekly) explanations.
5. Learn to implement cost reduction ideas (Method Improvements)
6. Ensure visual factory information is current at all times
OUTCOMES:
Time standards applications
Schedule and cost analysis
Manpower justification
Manufacturing cost savings
Education:
Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering or 2-3 yrs I.E. experience in aerospace firm with Science/Business degree can substitute for Industrial Engineering degree
Experience:
0 to 3 years in the manufacturing environment as an Industrial Engineer
Skills/Certifications:
Read blueprints, personal computer suite of software packages such as Excel, Word, Access, etc.
