General Engineer/Physical Scientist

In this position, you will serve at the Deputy Assistant Manager for Environment, Safety, Health & Quality (ESH&Q) performing the following duties:
Plan, direct, and manage programs and functions through ESH&Q office staff and oversee the worker safety and health and quality assurance programs. Manage relationships with Federal, state, local governmental agencies, private companies, and individuals regarding environmental, safety, and health activities, and ensure ESH&Q activities are performed in accordance with Federal requirements and industry standards. Interpret policy and requirements for production sites; implement NNSA governance, performance assurance, cost savings, and efficiency improvements; and work with Contractor counterparts, management peers, Headquarters, and other high level stakeholders to benchmark and implement best practices and influence policy and rule making decisions. Oversee work performed by the M&O and subcontractor workforces, and Federal employees on ESH&Q programs, projects, and activities associated with the NNSA Production Office 's (NPO) operations. Serve as the principal NPO representative for interactions with external oversight entities such as local, state, and federal regulators/stakeholders and partners. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
EN-04A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower NNSA Demonstration Project pay band or GS grade level in the Federal service of EN/NN/NQ-03 or GS-13 pay band. Specialized experience is defined as:
Experience leading teams and conducting oversight and technical evaluations in direct support of compliant Environment, Safety, Health and Quality programs at nuclear facilities or in support of nuclear operations. Examples of Specialized Experience can include:
1. Personally performed oversight activities (e.g., field observations of contractor work; inspections of contractor work) specific to ESH&Q disciplines at nuclear facilities or in support of nuclear operations. 2. Personally prepared written reports that captured results of oversight/inspection activities and/or documented issues (e.g., non-compliances) specific to ESH&Q disciplines at nuclear facilities or in support of nuclear operations. 3. Personally performed oversight or prepared reports and/or documented issues at nuclear facilities or in support of nuclear operations specific to Environmental Compliance, Safety and Health Programs, Waste Management, Transportation Safety, Technical Training, Explosive Safety or Quality Assurance. 4. Supervised technical and programmatic personnel in a formal supervisory capacity, as a team leader or other leadership role. Ability to conduct oversight of environment, safety, health and/or quality assurance programs to determine compliance and performance to those requirements. Knowledge of policies and orders, and national codes, regulations and standards in the areas of industrial safety, environmental protection, waste management, fire protection, transportation safety, worker health and safety, waste management, explosive safety, and/or quality assurance. Exceptional demonstrated verbal and written communication skill working with a wide variety of people on technical issues associated with ESH&Q programs. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include:
volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
