Vehicle Description 1967 Galaxie 500 Summary - This Galaxie was originally purchased from an individual in California and shipped to Texas as a restoration opportunity in 2015.
The speedometer shows 17,863 miles which has been turned one time making this a 117,863 mile automobile.
Inspired by the FE engine family and it's long history of durability and winning performance, this Galaxie was an attractive restoration opportunity as a two door fastback (Model 63B) with an original 390-4V FE big block power plant.
Short of the driver and rear floorplans, and the typical damage resulting on the battery tray, there were no serious structural challenges which was an important characteristic.
The objective was to restore all of the car to a new and/or near new condition, finishing with an automobile such that the owner can drive comfortably with confidence, preserving the period correct appearance, and adding a strong powerplant/drive train and some modern audio/blue tooth features.
This is not a concours restoration but a very close representation that is an period correct and designed to be driven - not just shown.
There is no spinning rims, no rolled and tucked leather, no stripes from a cartoon show - it is a restored and upgraded example of what a real FORD sedan use to be like with few frills and lots of big block power - lots.
The trim has been removed for a cleaner, shaven appearance and the 390 has been replaced with a 445 cubic inch FE stroker rated at 481HP (dyno sheet available).
The entire vehicle has been completely rebuilt from suspension to roof trim, and from headlight bezels to a carpeted trunk.
New front disc brakes, new rear brake drums and brake kit, new power brake booster, new proportioning valve, new brake lines, installed vacuum accumulator for power brake booster, battery-off switch, new 9 differential (closed set-up) w/3.
25 rear gears and axle bearings, rebuilt C6 w/ 2500 RPM stall converter and shift kit, new high torque starter, newly rebuilt dash pad from Just Dashes (not a cap), restored driver and passenger dash bezels, new tilting steering column and classic wood steering wheel, complete new electrical wiring throughout, Dynamat insulation through out cabin, new original style interior, new OEM style seat covers front and rear, new original style carpet, new BF Goodrich tires, correct Magnum 500 wheels, new temp and oil pressure sending units for lighted indicators, additional Autometer Tach/Temp/Oil gauges, all new ball joints, new tie rod ends and suspension bushings front and rear, new springs and spring insulators front and rear, new OEM style fuel tank and sending unit, (2) fuel filters, original radio rebuilt and upgraded to AM/FM stereo/USB/MP3, & blue tooth functionality, new Pioneer speakers, re-chromed bumpers, re-chromed front & rear light bezels, ceramic coated headers, 2 1/2 diameter dual exhaust, rebuilt heater core and plenum valve, new heater fan motor, new motor mounts, new window regulator rollers, completely new weather stripping, new door hinges, new door interior/exterior handles and lock cylinders, new rear seat sails with correct lighting, new headliner, new vent window regulators, new u-joints, new door floor seals, new wind lace, new sun visors, new period correct windshield wiper assembly's and blades, new front windshield, new rear view mirrors (inside and outside), and more items not listed but available in separate document.
The body and chassis was completely dis-assembled and media blasted.
The chassis was undercoated in urethane satin black, and the exterior completed obviously in a new acrylic paint scheme of Guardsman Blue for those that remember this color,.
This is basically a new car short of a handful of items that were unavailable or un-accessible which I will be glad to share.
The car has been a work-in-process for (5) years and has been kept inside the entire time.
Original VIN is 7N55Z138076.
This is not a partial restoration - it is fully restored and is not short of performance.
